Last year,  Hong Kong’s finest La Chiquitta released the moving and deeply personal chanson “Tranny In The House“.  Matt Pop delivered a banging, uplifting house mix for it. It was released on a strictly limited cd-single at the time, and copies are now selling on Ebay for astronomical figures – probably. So, to quench your thirst for this highly desirable recording, the record company have finally put the thing on i-Tunes!  Although apparently, it is still not available on i-Tunes in the United States – heavens knows why. So if you are in the US, and feel the need to dance to lyrics such as “if you want it hot and heavy, call the Tranny when you’re ready”, just call that mate in the UK or Mexico, tell them to download it from i-Tunes for you and you can send them a dollar in the post – easy!

Volume Up Records and Matt Pop are in a very generous mood. They have decided to make 3 remixes of  Change Your Life by Hollywood Road available absolutely FOR FREE through the new Volume Facebook page! This includes the full Matt Pop Club Mix. Oh, you lucky, lucky people….

The track was originally produced by legendary Mixmaster Pete Hammond for the compilation album Club Anthems Asia, that was released through Volume Up Records last year. Keep an eye on the Volume Facebook page, the download link for the remixes  will go up sometime in June 2011. Please note that the free download will not include the Pete Hammond original mix.

It’s a busy time for Matt Pop.Not only have the 2011 Matt Pop Mixes of Total Eclipse Of The Heart by the legendary Nicki French just been released, but he is also in the studio right now working on a new mix for none other than the phenomenon that is RuPaul! Ru was very happy with the Matt Pop mixes on her last album Drag Race. She is a huge PWL fan and she said that Matt’s PWL-inspired remix of Main Event was like a dream come true. Her wonderful new album Glamazon is out now, and Matt Pop will do a current sounding remix of one the album’s tracks. Can’t say much more yet, I’m afraid!

The Peter Wilson single Stereo, including the Matt Pop Club Mix, will be out in two weeks. And the latest news: not only will the full length album Stereo – featuring several tracks produced by Matt Pop –  be released on july 17, , but there will also be a 2-disc special edition, featuring bonus remixes and alternate versions, some of which are unavailable anywhere else! Among them are a unique instrumental version of last year’s debut single Intoxicated (a must for synth and italo fans), and extended versions and remixes of some of the album’s tracks. Both Peter and Matt are very excited about the extra material.
