Peter, Nicki, Ru!

It’s a busy time for Matt Pop.Not only have the 2011 Matt Pop Mixes of Total Eclipse Of The Heart by the legendary Nicki French just been released, but he is also in the studio right now working on a new mix for none other than the phenomenon that is RuPaul! Ru was very happy with the Matt Pop mixes on her last album Drag Race. She is a huge PWL fan and she said that Matt’s PWL-inspired remix of Main Event was like a dream come true. Her wonderful new album Glamazon is out now, and Matt Pop will do a current sounding remix of one the album’s tracks. Can’t say much more yet, I’m afraid!

The Peter Wilson single Stereo, including the Matt Pop Club Mix, will be out in two weeks. And the latest news: not only will the full length album Stereo – featuring several tracks produced by Matt Pop –  be released on july 17, , but there will also be a 2-disc special edition, featuring bonus remixes and alternate versions, some of which are unavailable anywhere else! Among them are a unique instrumental version of last year’s debut single Intoxicated (a must for synth and italo fans), and extended versions and remixes of some of the album’s tracks. Both Peter and Matt are very excited about the extra material. Matt Pop remix for Xelle!

Get your flares from the attic and dust off that disco ball again; Matt Pop has just finished his Disco-tastic club mix of Party Girl, the debut single by the fabulous, full-figured, fun-loving girls Xelle. One of the three lovely ladies is Mimi Imfurst, a contestant on season 3 of RuPaul’s Drag Race. You can watch the original video of Party Girl here:

More details on the availability of the Matt Pop Club Mix will follow soon!

So, when WILL they be released then?

The single “Stereo” by Peter Wilson, including the PWL-influenced Matt Pop club mix, will finally be released on June 6th. Yes people: we have an actual date now so take out your diary and make a note! And you better start putting aside some money, too, because the full-length album, also called Stereo, will be released three weeks later, on Monday June 27th. This delicious album is brimming with 80’s inspired, hook-filled electro pop and High-NRG, with no less than 7 tracks produced by Matt Pop. They include last year’s succesfull debut single Intoxicated, the Erasure-esque summer bubblegum that is I Live For Love, the kitschy eurohouse stomper Better Run Away and the sultry downtempo electro ballad One, featuring a very impressive vocal by mr. Wilson.

And as if that wasn’t enough good news, I am assured by the big bosses that the album The Bounce Back by the lovely Haywoode, is really, really coming out this year, too! Originally scheduled for release a year ago, it got pushed back a couple of times, while Sid Haywoode was moving to new management. The Matt Pop-remixed teaser single Getting Closer was already a club hit and fan favourite last summer and I would be very pleased for you to hear the rest of that excellent album. The wait has been long enough! Watch this space…
