MATT POP 2016 CHRISTMAS GIVEAWAY!
I think it’s that time of the year again: some free tunes for your enjoyment, hand-plucked by myself from 15 years of remixes. I have included some repeat ones for latecomers, but also a few I never shared before – or perhaps I did and forgot 😀 Here is a short explanation of my choices:
* A Flock Of Seagulls – I Ran (Matt Pop Mix) I shared this before but it may be new to some of you and I still like it.
* ABBA – Just Like That (Extended Matt Pop Mix, 2008) Ok, ok, you twisted my arm. The full vocal na-na-na Matt Pop Mix, for hardcore ABBA fans only.
* A-hAlphaville – Take On Me In Japan (Matt Pop Mix) My faux-mashup. Just thought I’d throw this in again.
* Bon Garçon – Freek You (Matt Pop Heimcomputer Mix)
The Seamus Haji remix of this is one of my favourite dance jams ever but this is my own Kraftwerk-style mix.
* Britney Spears – I Love Rock n Roll (Rare Matt Pop Mix)
Don’t remember ever sharing this but correct me if I’m wrong. It is like Erasure doing Glamrock. Lots of fun 😀
* Frida vs. Agnetha – När Det Lider Mot Jul The Swedish Christmas classic performed individually by Agnetha and Frida from ABBA through the years, I combined the two versions last year to make this unique duet.
* Glam with Pete Burns – Sex Drive (Matt Pop Mix 2006)
A few people asked me to do a Pete Burns mix after his passing but I haven’t the time at them moment so I dug this up, my only Pete Burns remix.
* H & Claire vs. Gemini – Another You, Another Me (Matt Pop Edit) By popular demand. This is a brandnew edit of my remix. I won’t share the full-length club mix for free since quite a few of you bought it from Legitmix earlier this year.
* Kylie Minogue – Into The Blue (Matt Pop’s Endless Journey Mix, edit) Maddeningly, Kylie’s Christmas album re-issue still does not include last year’s much loved Stock, Aitken and Waterman remix of Every Day’s Like Christmas, nor my remix of 100 Degrees. So, in some twisted way, it makes sense for me to share my Stock, Aitken and Waterman-inspired Kylie mix again this Christmas.
* Kylie Minogue vs. Tavares – All The Lovers Must be Missing An Angel (Matt Pop Mix) I love this, plain and simple.
* Samantha Fox – Touch Me (Matt Pop Mix) There is a new mix floating about at the moment; this is the one I did around 2010.
* Yazoo – Softly Over (Matt Pop Mix 2013 Remaster) A new dance track with my own vocals will be released very soon, but I also do a few backing vocals on this Yazoo remix.
