BIG! GAY! ANTHEM!

Those of you who are familiar with Matt Pop’s work will know that he is not averse to a bit of camp every now and then, and his latest production with Hong Kong’s finest DJ Stonedog is camper than a row of tents. Yes, it’s Big Gay Anthem, a song so gay that even some gay radio stations have complained about it – which ofcourse amused DJ Stonedog and Matt no end. Written by DJ Stonedog,  produced by Matt, and sung by lovely upcoming dance diva Thara, the song consists entirely of titles of gay classics (whatever those are, right?) so the lyrics are a pub quiz waiting to happen (“name at least 5 song titles mentioned in the second verse of Big Gay Anthem!”).  It was supposed to be out on iTunes last week, but there has been a small hiccup with our Apple friends; however,  you can download the Matt Pop radio edit,  club mix and club mix without rap now: https://itunes.apple.com/nl/album/big-gay-anthem-feat.-thara/id578676283  To watch the YouTube preview, go here: http://youtu.be/jc6I25EXhVc

Tarzan Boy (Matt Pop mixes) out now!

Just released on Almighty Records: Tarzan Boy by Amazonia, a cover of the Baltimora classic. Included are the Almighty mixes and Matt Pop mixes, (including the delicious Matt Pop Dub).  Some of you will be familiar with the Matt Pop bootleg mix of Tarzan Boy (now removed from YouTube), which was getting very popular, very fast. The Amazonia mixes are similar, but they also incorporate some elements from the “Summer Version”, the alternative mix at the time of the Baltimora original.  Get the Amazonia CD-R, MP3, or WAV here: http://www.almightyrecords.com/product/ALMY385/  You can hear previews of the Matt Pop Radio Mix and the Matt Pop Dub on YouTube: http://youtu.be/jc6I25EXhVc

Matt Pop Meet, Greet and Eat

"Is...that...cake...?"
Those are NOT beer mats!

So, the Matt Pop Meet, Greet and Eat was a huge success;  we ate, we drank, we danced, we laughed, we cried – well, maybe not quite. Still, a good time was had by everyone – especially by those who had plans to attend certain parties of a questionable nature afterwards… Special thanks to Michael Higgins for all the work he put into his lovely presents, and to Andy Ross of the Facebook Matt Pop Fan Group for coming up with the harebrained idea of a Meet & Greet in the first place. There is now even talk of doing it all again next year!
