Matt Pop on Facebook

Sadly,  the Matt Pop Facebook fan group has been taken down, after a personal dispute with one of the group’s administrators.  It is a shame, since many of you seemed to enjoy the free mix give-aways, the Q & A’s and the Matt Pop Meet & Greet that were aranged through the group page, for example. Matt Pop wishes to express his gratitude to Andy and Hans for running the page and all the members over the years for their kind words and probing questions 🙂  However, Matt has finally decided to join the rest of the world, and become an official Facebook member  himself! So in addition to www.mattpop.nl, you can now also find Matt on Facebook,  for the latest news, updates, releases, photo’s and more. Almighty Presents: We Love Matt Pop!

It’s official: this is going to be the best year ever for Matt Pop fans. Since late summer 2012, Almighty Records and Matt Pop have been working in secret on the ultimate Best Of Matt Pop compilation and it looks like all the hard work has paid off; the release of Almighty Presents: We Love Matt Pop is almost upon us! You will get a double album featuring Matt‘s most popular Almighty mixes, plus many tracks done for other labels. Some of these have never been released on cd before. We have also included a few brand new mixes, available here for the first time, plus at least 2 that have only been YouTube bootlegs – until now! To top it all off, we had to have an ABBA connection in there somewhere, too. No, we didn’t get permission to remix the real thing, but we have made sure that ABBA fans wil NOT be disappointed… Almighty Presents: We Love Matt Pop will be available on cd and as WAV or MP3 download. Tracklisting and release date coming soon!      http://www.almightyrecords.com/

Matt Pop and Hazell Dean

Matt Pop has re-mixed an entire Hazell Dean album last year (“In The Name Of”, due out this spring) but had never actually met the lady herself. Until last night, that is. She was in Holland on a flash visit, performing some of her biggest hits at a massive dance classics party, and just before she was whisked away from her hotel to the venue, Matt and Hazell managed to meet for drinks and a chat. Well – Matt had the drinks and Hazell, ever the professional, stuck to mineral water. Compliments about eachother’s work flew across the table, closely followed by showbiz gossip. Both Matt and Hazell are very proud of the upcoming album and are hoping that fans will come out in droves to support it. Keep checking this page for release updates.

Hazell all done!

The last of the Hazell Dean tracks (No Frills Love, if you must now) has just left the Matt Pop studio, flying through cyber space to the virtual desk of the record company, where it will join the nine other Matt Pop mixes that together will form Hazell‘s new album In The Name Of.  Plans are to include all the original Dean & Ware mixes as well, making it a no-holds-barred double whammy! Hazell is singing better than ever and has lovingly hand-picked a set of her favourite pop and dance classics. The Matt Pop mixes range from contemporary club, to disco house, to techno funk and with some old-fashioned retro high-energy thrown in for good measure. Album release is set for early spring, with the next single This Is My Life coming out before that.  http://www.hazelldean.net/
