Tight Fit are the 80’s British pop act that rose to unanticipated, almost overnight fame, with their cover of ‘The Lion Sleeps Tonight’!  Male model Steve Grant teamed up with female singers Denise Gyngell and Julie Harris to front the act and the song reached No.1 in the UK for 3 weeks.  Following this, the group then recorded and released ‘Fantasy Island’ which reached No. 5 in the charts and was recently updated by mix masters Almighty for their previous Definitive collection – ‘Almighty Definitive 8’.  A new line-up for the group followed and then came their fabulous ‘I’m Undecided’….

This strictly limited promo cd not only features the mesmerizing Matt Pop mixes, but also the fabulous Almighty mixes!

There are currently no plans to release these mixes commercially so this may well be your only chance to get your hands on these unique tracks!

Daddy Cool!

Remember Unit-911? The Spanish – American singing cop with bulging muscles, who last year had a surprise club hit with “Woof – Give It To Me”? The menacing, ultra-cool Matt Pop Mix is available from most download sites and the very raunchy video, full of big, hairy musclemen has still not been banned from YouTube – hint hint.

Well, the big guy – who in real life is a total pussycat, ofcourse – will be back very soon with his follow-up single Daddy Cool! This remake of the Boney M classic is sung by mr. 911 in a voice so low it will make your tummy tingle. And once again, there will be a Matt Pop Club mix, filled with hooks, synths and erm, a really good beat. The video will be shot this month so keep an eye out for that. In the meantime, Matt Pop has also been working on brand new mixes for a very exciting new Almighty Records project – more details coming soon!

Matt Pop remixes Superstar for RuPaul!

Matt Pop has once again teamed up with the fabulousness that is RuPaul, to bring you the banging anthem Superstar – The Matt Pop Amsterdam Remix. In between devising and presenting ground-breaking and highly succesfull shows like Drag Race and Drag U, Ru has managed to release two fantastic dance albums over the past two years. The latest, Glamazon, now has a really pretty – but slightly bitchy – baby sister, called SuperGlam DQ.  It features a collection of remixes from Glamazon tracks, and it is here that you will find this  brand new Matt Pop remix! Check  it out on i-Tunes, Amazon, or visit Ru directly: www.rupaul.com.

“Stereo” now available!

The album “Stereo” by Australian singer Peter Wilson is out now. The download version features 9 tracks that were co-written and/or produced by Matt Pop, the 2-disc, 23-track special edition cd even more! Among the bonus tracks on the double cd set is a beautiful alternative instrumental version of last year’s single Intoxicated and a pretty fabulous retro club mix of Tell Me The Truth – completely different from the album version!

Writers contributing to the album are Peter Wilson, Matt Pop, Chris Richards, Dave Ford, Ian Curnow, Stock/Aitken/Waterman and Dieter Bohlen of Modern Talking fame. And with production duties performed by Matt Pop, T1 Music Australia, Dave Ford/IanCurnow, and Pete Hammond, this album is slice of pure pop heaven! Don’t take my word for it though; take a listen to the track-by-track rundown of the album on my YouTube channel. If you want to go old school, and get the physical cd set with the 7 bonus tracks, go to www.energiserecords.com, and click on “albums”.

The 16-track download is available on i-Tunes, Amazon and other download sites.
